As Head of Archival Collections and Management, Patrick sets policy and provides oversight for the way the Libraries arrange, describe, manage, provide access to, and facilitate discovery of its rich archival and special collections holdings across the departments of Rare Books & Special Collections and University Archives.
Jennifer works across the University Archives and Department of Rare Books & Special collections to support archival processing and archival metadata quality and strategy. She is responsible for appraisal, arrangement, description, and management of archival materials in all formats. She also helps ensure the integrity of archival description across Library and cooperative platforms. Jennifer provides support for questions and problem-solving related to processing procedures, archival standards and schemas, and ArchiveSpace functionality and workflows.
Jennifer holds an MLIS with a specialization in Archives from Wayne State University.
As the Senior Archivist for Audiovisual Materials, Erik Dix manages a vast array of analog audiovisual collections within the University Archives. His work spans collection care and management as well as preservation assessment and technical conservation treatments as necessary. He provides expertise in the area of digitization and reformatting of analog formats to digital audio and video codecs and file containers. Also, he supports reference and research services for a variety of administrative departments and academic offices, faculty, scholars and local, national, and international production companies.
As the Senior Archivist for Graphic Materials, Elizabeth Hogan preserves, provides access, and facilitates discovery to photographic materials housed within the University Archives. Her includes collection care and management as well as digitization and metadata creation for a wide range of photographic material. Also, she supports reference, outreach, and research services for a variety of administrative departments and academic offices, faculty members, and local, national, and international audiences.
As Archives Specialist, Jason is responsible for the appraisal, transfer, arrangement, description, and management of archival collections in the University Archives. He also supports digital preservation and records management functions and works with campus partners and other stakeholders to broaden the understanding of the University Archives.
Jason is a Certified Archivist and holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As the Digital Archivist at Notre Dame, Scott Kirycki develops and implements policies, procedures, and workflows for records retention and the appraisal, ingest, and preservation of born-digital University records.
Scott holds a Master of Science in Information degree from the University of Michigan School of Information. His specialization is Archives and Records Management, and he studied Preservation of Information as well. Previously, Scott worked for a company that made computer databases for lawyers. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Calvin College and a Master of Arts degree in English from Clark University.

I've been the Catholic Studies Librarian at Hesburgh Libraries since 2007, providing assistance to faculty, students, and visiting scholars while building the collections in American Catholic studies.
As Assistant Archivist, Joe Smith provides in-person and virtual reference services including research consultations for a wide array of archival manuscript collections, university records, graphic materials, and audiovisual collections. In addition to engaging in reference services, he collaborates with colleagues across the libraries and campus to support the teaching and research mission of the University as well as ensures that the reading room operates smoothly in order to provide efficient patron research services.
